We can already see the blue stacks through the window from outside: 1 000 KREUL Window Color Magic Sea sets are put together every week. Often even more as the employees at Lebenshilfe Forchheim are very hardworking and can complete large orders with a total of 10 000 sets as routine. They are all partially work-incapacitated and wouldn’t really have a chance on the ordinary jobs market. But at Lebenshilfe Werkstatt Forchheim, they can realize their full potential. Supervisor Jens Koehn and his colleagues train the employees, but beyond that they also support them in coping with everyday life, political education and even in their free time. Nobody is left on their own here. But together they work to identify personal strengths. And if things don’t run smoothly, advice and assistance are offered. Mutual respect and wellbeing are important. And they sometimes go on trips together or enjoy get-togethers at barbecues, etc. 
 

Folding the boxes for the sets is quite fiddly; the pens in the KREUL Window Color Set Magic Sea set have to fit snugly in the box and the corners mustn't be stretched or creased. The employees at Lebenshilfe Forchheim train each other, paying attention to the smallest details. When a new order comes in, then first the group is shown what the end result should look like. Then, together, they work out work instructions for assembling the sets, before they get started with folding the boxes. Fold, turn and fit in place: after just a short time, the boxes are all lined up ready for the next work step, picking the different items to make up the sets.
 

The KREUL Window Color Set Magic Sea contains the following: seven 29-ml pens in the colours Snow White, Orange, Ruby Red, Pink, Light Blue, Turquoise, Black along with a sheet of special film and a sheet of motif templates. The ladies from the picking station make sure nothing is left out. The colours are contained in a row of boxes. First Snow White, then Orange to Black. Each paint pen is inspected before it is placed into a set. Uh oh, the writing on the label is smudged or blurred? The ladies see this immediately and take the pen out.
 

Before a Window Color Set is sealed, a final check is performed. Only when all the colours are in their right places in the box, the motif template and the special film have been added, is the box closed and sealed with a glue dot. "I'm a child of the 1990s,“ reveals Sascha, “I like Window Color. But what I like best are the variety and movement involved in the work.“ In that moment, most of her work is done sitting down, but as soon as all pens are in the boxes, she goes to get new ones with her colleagues. It is also possible for employees swap activities. And what comes after KREUL Window Color Set Magic Sea? A new challenge.
