How high is KREUL’s carbon footprint?
04/30/2025 |
Calculation steps
Our CO₂ footprint was calculated for the second time by myclimate. Goal and focus of the non-profit foundation is creating a sustainable future. It provides consulting, arranges education schemes and organizes climate protection projects.
The calculation is based on internationally acknowledged standards (ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, CDP, GRI) and covers all climate-relevant greenhouse gases. The best-known of these is carbon dioxide (CO₂). In KREUL's CO₂ assessment, all CO₂ emissions that we have caused within one year are listed. The total gives us our individual CO₂ footprint.
Included in the calculation were only emissions that are caused by the company activities in 2023. These could be assigned to the following categories: Energy, Mobility & Transport, Material & Services, Water, Waste & Recycling. The biggest item is Energy with 51.75 %. It comprises, for example, emissions caused by heating and cooling. In second place is the category Mobility & Transport with 37.98 %. Not taken into account are those processes upstream and downstream of our production process. So the emissions caused by the raw materials during their production are not taken into consideration. Equally, the use phase of the KREUL products after they have been sold to the final consumer is not included.

KREUL plays its part in reforestation
Compared to 2022, with a carbon footprint of 556 t CO₂ our unavoidable emissions have stayed at the same level. We are working on lowering our emissions long-term. Moreover, making an ecological contribution is also close to our heart. That's why we are financially supporting a reforestation project in Tanzania. The project contributes to the social, ecological and economic development in this region. You can see the certificate here.
