What to do if a child swallows MUCKI Finger Paint?

07/07/2025 |

The good news: MUCKI Finger Painti absolutely childproof – properly tested and labelled. To put children off licking their brightly cooloured fingers, MUCKI Finger Paint contains the bitter substance Bitrex. This tastes very bitter so that children generally spit any paint out straightaway. But if paint does somehow find its way into a child’s mouth, it is generally harmless.

Why? MUCKI Finger Paint must comply with strict regulations. These say that any substances contained must be such that they pose no health hazard even if the paint is swallowed. Independent testing institutes have confirmed to us that the paint complies with statutory requirements for toys and does not have any harmful health effects.

What makes MUCKI Finger Paint safe?

For our MUCKI paints for children, safety is the top priority. Regardless of whether they are still wet or dry, MUCKI Finger Paints comply with the current European Toy Directive and are labelled with the CE mark. When it comes to the formulation for our MUCKI Finger Paint, we only add what is absolutely necessary and consciously leave out any unnecessary ingredients. They are paraben-free, gluten-free, lactose-free, nut-free – and 100 % vegan.

The paint consists mainly of water, a high-quality binder and carefully selected colour pigments. So that MUCKI Finger Paint lasts for longer, we do add phenoxyethanol from the cosmetics industry. Our goal: the youngest artists should be able to explore colour and paint by painting, playing and simply mucking about with it – completely carefree with no worries.
