It’s party time! Cool light effects are a must-have. KREUL Acrylic Glow-in-the-Dark paint is perfect for everyone who wants to put on a big show. It lights up as soon as the light goes off. Want some tips and tricks? We explain all the need-to-know details in answers to the five questions that we are most frequently asked about KREUL Acrylic Glow-in-the-Dark paint.

What’s the best way to charge KREUL Acrylic Glow-in-the-Dark paint?

KREUL Acrylic Glow-in-the-Dark paint is a phosphorescent fluorescent paint. Light radiation causes it to glow. So it's essential that you give it enought light. You get the strongest light effect with direct sunlight or UV light. You can use a torch to shine on small painted objects for a few minutes.

How do you make KREUL Acrylic Glow-in-the-Dark paint glow longer?

How long the KREUL Acrylic Glow-in-the-Dark paint glows depends on the thickness of the paint and intensity of the light radiation. Thick layers of paint exposed to direct sunlight over the day glow the longest in the dark. No time for that? Then this trick can help. Just shine black light onto the painted area. A fantastic effect for party decorations.

For which surfaces is KREUL Acrylic Glow-in-the-Dark paint suitable?

KREUL Acrylic Glow-in-the-Dark paint is perfect for wood, paper, card, polystyrene, stone, dried concrete, terracotta, ceramic, clay, plastic, leather or air-drying modelling clay. You can even use it to paint on walls. The walls should be plastered smooth and any wallpaper should not be structured. It is important that the surface is white as this reflects the rays of light best. That means that that the paint can charge up on light better.

How do you apply KREUL Acrylic Glow-in-the-Dark paint?

The key thing here is the thickness of the paint layer. The thicker the paint is applied, the better the glow-in-the-dark pigments can charge. So we recommend applying the paint with a paint spatula or artist'sknife. If you apply it with a paintbrush, then we recommend you paint more than one coat of paint.

Is KREUL Acrylic Glow-in-the-Dark paint suitable for outdoors?

In principle, yes, as the paint is water- and weatherproof. Painted-on decorations should not stand in water for a long time. Indoors, when you can turn ff the light, it is more effective. Outside KREUL Acrylic Glow-in-the-Dark paint  starts to glow at dusk. It does not store any more light and may only glow weakly once it is completely dark outside.
