Easy print project: Leaves on candles

10/10/2024 |

How can we get a cosy atmosphere in no time at all? By lighting a candle. But how can we make it extra special? With our autumn motif. We have collected autumn leaves and used the KREUL Candle Pen to print them onto candles. It’s wonderful how the filigree veins on the leaves show up on the candles. And we've kept everything in autumnal colour shades. Fancy a quick autumn craft project? Here, we show you how easy it is to print on candles.

Step 1: Squeeze your colours onto a palette: yellow and red like autumn leaves

First squeeze two colours of the KREUL Candle Pen onto a tile or plate. To go with the bright orange autumn leaves, we have chosen red and yellow. Just squeeze the liquid wax colour out of the pen. You can use this straight away, no need to warm it first. Just so practical!

Step 2: Use a paint roller to apply the paint

We don’t put the paint straight onto the candle, but first pick it up on a paint roller. That way we can get an even print – not too thick, and we can blend the colours. From red and yellow, you get spots of bright orange. Then roll the paint onto the back of the autumn leaf. It doesn’t matter if the leaf sticks to the paint roller.

Step 3: Print the leaf with a special trick

Peel the leaf off the paint roller and place it onto the candle. Press it down gently. Now for a special trick: Roll the candle together with the leaf. The pressure from the tabletop helps transfer the motif onto the candle. Then carefully remove the leaf from the candle and admire the leafprint on the candle! We love the even paint application and the filigree details. Have fun printing on candles!
