Christmas greetings: designed in next to no time with markers

12/11/2024 |

In December, there's always a lot to do, so it often has to be done fast. After all, Christmas is just around the corner. So we're just taking a short time out and using it to paint a little Christmas tree. With the SOLO GOYA Aqua Paint Marker, you can do this in next to no time, but with a wow effect. Because you can use the SOLO GOYA Masking Marker to add a Christmas greeting. The two markers are fantastic for designing motifs for Christmas cards. Here we show you how to create our Christmas tree illustration in just a few steps. Have fun trying it out.

Step 1: Design the lettering with the SOLO GOYA Masking Marker

First letter your Christmas greeting with the SOLO GOYA Masking Marker medium. We have replaced the medium tip with an Edge tip, so the letters look almost like calligraphy. We have written "Merry X-MAS" on a blank KREUL Paper Postcard.

The marker contains liquid scratch crepe that covers up parts of a painting surface. So after you have rubbed it off, you get sharp-line lettering in the white of the watercolour paper. So easy, but if you have any questions about SOLO GOYA Masking Marker, you can find some answers
here.

Step 2: Use the SOLO GOYA Aqua Paint Marker to draw a Christmas tree on top

Your lettering has dried? Then gently press the SOLO GOYA Aqua Paint Marker in indigo blue on the paper and draw branches with the fine, flexible brush tip with sweeping strokes from right to left. If you want, use light grey to paint a second tree and few stars in the background. With the fine tip of the SOLO GOYA Aqua Paint Markers, you can draw filigree lines.

You can use water to thin the colour-intense ink in the SOLO GOYA Aqua Paint Marker for wash effects. But here we like the intense and pure paint application of the marker and don’t add any water.

Step 3: Use an eraser to remove the scratch crepe

Almost finished! Now just remove the masking fluid from the lettering. You can do this easily by rubbing it with your finger tip. You can also use a rubber eraser to remove the gum of the SOLO GOYA Masking Marker. Just rub it off and be wowed by the white letting on a blue background. Merry X-MAS.
