Five questions about the KREUL Tattoo Pen

09/12/2024 |

At children's birthday parties and in T-shirt weather, DIY-painted tattoos are a big hit! It’s so easy to paint butterflies, anchors or your own name onto skin. For children aged from 6 years, this means mega fun. But Mummies and Daddie may have a few more questions – that’s why we're answering the five questions we are most frequently asked about the KREUL Tattoo Pen here.

How long do tattoos painted with the KREUL Tattoo Pen last?

The KREUL Tattoo Pen is a marker for children aged from six years. It has been specially developed so that the colour comes off after a certain amount of time and doesn’t stay on children’s skin. The KREUL Tattoo Pen does not contain permanent ink. The painted-on tattoos are washed off the next time the skin is in longer contact with water.

How do you get the painted tattoo to stay on the skin longer?

The tattoo will last longer if you apply your motif to grease-free skin. So before you paint a tattoo onto skin, it is a good idea to wash the area of skin with soap, but don't apply any moisturizing cream, etc. The tattoo varies on different types of skin. You will get different results on dry skin than on combination or greasy skin. We recommend that you don’t paint tattoos on hands as these often come into contact with water. It's better to position the motif on an arm or shoulder.

Is the KREUL Tattoo Pen kind to children’s skin?

The ink in the KREUL Tattoo Pen has been dermatologically tested by an independent institute. We use a cosmetic ink made in Germany. KREUL Tattoo Pens comply with the directives for both cosmetics and toys. That’s why the pens and the sets have the CE mark and are classed by us as toys.

Is the KREUL Tattoo Pen gluten-free?

The KREUL Tattoo Pen contains cosmetic ink. This is gluten-free. It is also lactose-free and paraben-free.

How do you paint tattoos with the stencils included in the sets?

The KREUL Tattoo Pen Sets come with stencils to make painting tattoos child’s play. First place the stencil on the skin, e.g. onto the upper arm. It is important to paint from the edge of the stencil towards the centre, not the other way around. Hold the KREUL Tattoo Pen very flat so that the entire tip of the pen is used to colour in the stencil. This makes sure that the edges of the motif have a sharper definition and the colour doesn’t bleed over the outline of the stencil.
