The challenge of colour – KREUL's Bring-Your-Child-To-Work Day"

11/21/2024 |

The Day of Prayer and Repentance is a religious holiday for schools in Bavaria – but many parents worry about what to do with their kids while they go to work? For KREUL employees, it was no problem this year as they were permitted to bring their offspring along to their workplace. On 20 November 2024, we organized a KREUL Bring-Your-Child-To-Work Day. For parents, this was a huge relief and for the kids a fantastic opportunity to explore the colourful KREUL world. At different stations in our plant, the kids were given small tasks to complete – which they mastered with flying colours. Every challenge brought the kids closer to finding a thrilling gold treasure. It was wonderful to see the twinkling in the kids' eyes. Here, just a few snapshots from this exciting day.

Paint in big and small pots

“This time, it was even better,” said little Fiona, praising our programme, which KREUL employees had arranged for our special visitors. After a quick breakfast together, the kids headed to the paint production department where bright red MUCKI Window Color paint was being mixed. What do you put in the bathtub-sized pot? The kids let their curiosity run wild. In the laboratory they were able to experience the process again on a much smaller scale and take a couple of buckets of the mixed paint with them.

Small tasks – exciting moments

But before they could try the paints out, the first challenge was started: manually filling paint into pens. The task was timed. Who was faster: human or machine? The machine did win in the end, but only just. But for completing the task, the enthusiastic kids were rewarded with a puzzle piece for the KREUL treasure map. In the filling, packaging and dispatch department, they faced some more mini-challenges. How do you put sets together quicker – working on your own or as a team with the division of labour? No surprise that teamwork was unbeatable here. The kids learned a lot and enjoyed a fun time together.

Gold treasure and advent calendars

As a reward, there was not only pizza for unch together with Mum or Dad. The puzzle pieces they had earned could be joined together to make a treasure map. Yippee, gold treasure! The kids were delighted with a package full of surprises. But that wasn’t all that they took home with them. Each child was able to make their own advent calendar from 24 packaging boxes. With KREUL Nature and MUCKI Glitter Pens, they transformed these into a lovely memento of an eventful day.

For the KREUL employees, the day was a fun change. For the kids a colourful adventure. And for the parents a big help – so we are happy to offer this experience again and are already looking forward to the day next year.
