You’ll find some help here as we are answering the five questions we are most frequently asked about KREUL Acrylic Neon paint.

Why shouldn’t you leave KREUL Acrylic Neon paint in the sun?

Because of the paint’s limited light-fastness. The neon effects are obtained with fluorescent pigments. But these only have moderate light fastness. That’s why the paint colour fades if you put it in the sun. That also applies to neon-painted decorative items at the window, in the garden or on the balcony. So it's best to place the painted objects in half-shade or shaded areas. UV protective varnish also improves light fastness.

How do you get KREUL Acrylic Neon Paint to light up in the dark?

That works with black light or ultraviolet light. But you don’t need to position the light source directly next to the painted object. It's enough if black light is switched on in the dark room. KREUL Acrylic Neon Paint reacts immediately and lights up with an intense glow, other paints can’t do that.

Is KREUL Acrylic Neon paint a glow-in-the-dark paint

No, it isn’t a glow-in-the-dark paint. It is a day-glow paint and it’s fluorescent. The invisible UV part of daylight is transformed into visible light. The paint's luminous efficiency is increased. That’s why KREUL Acrylic Neon Paint radiates so intensely. It not only glows in daylight, but very effectively under black light.

But the fluorescence process "weakens" gradually over time. It slowly fades in sunlight. You can easily fix this problem with KREUL Acrylic Neon paint. As this dries to a matt finish, you can easily freshen up the effect by painting over it.

Is KREUL Acrylic Neon Paint suitable for painting children’s toys?

The bright DIY paint is very suitable for painting children’s toys made of wood. It gives a cool effect that will really wow the kids. Once dried, KREUL Acrylic Neon paint is saliva- and water-resistant. On absorbent materials like, for example, untreated wood, it complies with the current toy standard once it has dried.

Can you thin KREUL Acrylic Neon paint with water?

KREUL Acrylic Neon paint is a fluorescent paint for painting different objects. It works on numerous surfaces like wood, paper, card, polystyrene, stone, set concrete, terracotta, glass, ceramics, clay, metal, plastics, leather and air-drying modelling clay. KREUL Acrylic Neon paint can be mixed with water. If you add a little water, you can change the consistency of the paint. It becomes creamier. If you mix the paint with lots of water, you get a transparent paint wash.
