With the metal pigment paint, you can create brilliant bronze effects with a paintbrush. Here, we are happy to answer the five questions we are most frequently asked about KREUL Gold Bronze and KREUL Silver Bronze.

 

Is KREUL Liquid Bronze an acrylic paint?

No, KREUL Silver Bronze and KREUL Gold Bronze are high-gloss metal pigment paints on based on synthetic resin. Acrylic paint, on the other hand, is water-based. We recommend you use a soft synthetic paintbrush to paint KREUL Liquid Bronze. After painting, the paintbrush can't simply be washed with water and soap. You need to clean it with KREUL Brush Cleaner. 

Why should you only paint one coat of KREUL Liquid Bronze?

KREUL Silver Bronze and KREUL Gold Bronze are opaque. So it's enough to paint just one coat of paint. Another coat would even be contraproductive. The new coat of paint would dissolve the underlying one. The metallic gloss effect would not improve, but deteriorate. 

Does KREUL Liquid Bronze need protective varnish?

That is only needed for objects that are supposed to stand outdoors or are exposed to high mechanical stresses, e.g. chair backs. In this case, we recommend applying a thin layer of KREUL Zapon Varnish. Alternatively, you can use a brush-on shellac from a DIY market.

What do you have to remember when applying KREUL Liquid Bronze?

Stir the metal pigment paint well with the shaft of the paintbrush or a wooden stick. That is the best way to distribute the metal pigments. It is important to paint evenly especially as objects should only be painted with one coat of KREUL Liquid Bronze. Don't try fixing any mistakes with a another coat as this could dissolve the underlying coat. 

As the name suggests, the consistency of KREUL Liquid Bronze is very liquid. The paint is suitable for designing decorative objects and furniture made of wood, metal, plastic or ceramic. If it is applied as the top layer to a canvas, it conjures an additional highlight on acrylic artwork. KREUL Liquid Bronze is also suitable for dot painting on stones. But you shouldn't apply any more paint on top of the dots. And while you're painting, hold the stone level and horizontal so that the dots don't run. 

How can you make KREUL Liquid Bronze last longer?

We recommend screwing the jar closed tight and storing it upside down. This trick makes it airtight. If you have already used half of the KREUL Liquid Bronze, then it is best to fill it it into a smaller jar to keep the air gap as small as possible.
