Watercolour painting meets hand lettering.

Do you just send Whats App messages for birthdays? Much nicer and, more than anything, much more personal is a handwritten greeting – as a token of appreciation.

Handwritten messages, whether it is a simple word, a verse or a wise saying, that have been written in an ornate or playful style or perhaps in a more artistic and elegant hand are always something special. With beautiful handwriting, you can emphasize the individuality of a greetings card for the best friend or the unusual character of an invitation. You can also creatively fill journals, diaries or picture frames with individual hand lettering.

Brush-style lettering is a decorative and uncomplicated style of writing – and the SOLO GOYA Aqua Paint Marker is the perfect painting implement to create such impressive artworks, With the elastic brush tip, you’ll be to perfect the dynamic lettering as well as create larger design elements.

In our example, the dynamic energy of the brush-type lettering vies with the lightness of the coloured area of the surface. This was coloured with SOLO GOYA Aqua Paint Markers. You get the movement and the soft, transparent colour fades when the ink you have applied when the Aqua Paint Markers comes into contact with water.

Step by step to a display-worthy motif

Create large areas of colour quickly and easily by holding the SOLO GOYA Aqua Paint Marker at a flat angle. By going over the area several times, you can apply the colour in different colour depths.

Use a paintbrush and lots of water to dissolve the dye ink to get a very good watercolour-like flow and spread it over the picture surface.
.

If you paint on wet areas with the Aqua Paint Marker, then every so often wrap the tip in a dry paper towel so that the ink can flow better and the applied colour remains rich and brilliant.

If water randomly splashes and spreads onto the wet or already dried colour, beautiful watercolour effects result. You can then soak up the droplets with a paper towel or just leave them to dry.

Once the background is completely dry, use a pencil to faintly set out the letters. You can transfer the lettering onto your surface from an original with copier paper.

The tip of the marker is flexible and elastic like a paintbrush. By varying the pressure on the tip of the brush and holding the marker at different angles, you can trace the letters with different line thicknesses.

After the ink has dried, simply erase your pencil marks with a rubber.
