Easy crafting for kids: tabletop decor for Easter

03/19/2025 |

How to make an Easter treat for Mummy, Grandma or other loved one? That’s right! With a decorative DIY Easter gift. With MUCKI Kids Decoupage Glue, this takes hardly any time at all. And our project is easy and fun to do for kids aged from 4 years. Just take an Easter bunny motif from a paper napkin, glue it down and varnish it over. This turns an empty jam jar into a tealight holder for Easter or a tin can into a plant pot to gift some flowers. Grab a paintbrush and join us. Here, with a step-by-step guide, we show you how to make Easter Bunny decor to grace your Easter table.

Here’s what you need: MUCKI Kids Decoupage Glue and just a few other things

For our Easter Bunny tealight holders and flower pots, you will need: MUCKI Kids Decoupage Glue, a washed-out jam jar or tin, scissors, a soft flat brush and a paper napkin with Easter Bunny motif. We first painted the tin with KREUL Nature Hibiscus Flower and let the paint dry. For our Easter craft idea, now all you need to do is some gluing and sticking. MUCKI Kids Decoupage Glue is water-based and water-soluble. That means that any glue marks can be washed out of textiles. So the kids can stick the napkin motifs with no worries.

Step 1: Cut out the Easter Bunny motif from the paper napkin

Our first step is a great exercise for training fine motor skills. For the Easter tea-light holders and flower pots, we only need the Easter Bunnies not the entire paper napkin.

Step 2: Apply napkin glue to the surface you want to decorate

Take a soft flat brush to evenly spread MUCKI Kids Decoupage Glue over the glass or tin.

Step 3: Peel off the napkin motif

The important thing here is to peel off only the topmost layer of the Easter Bunny motif. That is a bit fiddly as the topmost layer is wafer thin. But with the help of a grown-up or perhaps a couple of tries, it is not usually a big problem.

Step 4: Stick the Easter Bunny onto the glass jar and varnish it over

Now place the cut-out Easter Bunny motif onto the glass jar or tin. Use dry fingers, that is without any wet glue on them, to press down the motif. If this doesn’t work straight away, use a paintbrush to move the motif into position. Then brush over a second layer of MUCKI Kids Decoupage Glue. This acts like a varnish covercoat and protects the motif. Let it all dry. All done! Child’s play. And if you want, you can stick an Easter Bunny motif onto a plastic flower pot in the same way. After all, MUCKI Kids Decoupage Glue is suitable for numerous surfaces. Good to know: the special glue for children has been dermatologically tested and it is paraben-free, gluten-free, lactose-free, nut-free, titanium dioxide-free and vegan. Wishing you lots of fun with your Easter craft projects!
