### KREUL Foto Transfer Potch: A stylish way to transfer photos and prints
KREUL Foto Transfer Potch is a special glue that you can use to transfer waterproof prints onto different surfaces. The water-based transfer medium dries transparent to a silk-gloss finish. Once they have dried, the motifs are weatherproof and waterproof on absorbent surfaces like wood. Perfect for displaying the later artwork in the garden or at an event.
KREUL Foto Transfer Potch is available in a 150-ml tub or a 750-ml bottle. Ideal for multiple artworks or for workshops. For anyone who wants to try out this technique, our complete set comprising 50 ml Foto Transfer Potch, 50 ml varnish, a synthetic brush and a squeegee is a good idea.
### Step by step: How to turn your photo into portrait art on canvas
For our portrait art, we have first primed the canvas with SOLO GOYA Acrylic in colours of our choice. As soon as the coat of acrylic paint has dried, you can get started transferring photos. For this we printed out our portrait photo on a laser printer. Why? For transferring photos, you need a waterproof printout, e.g. printed with a laser printer. Inks from an inkjet printer are not waterproof. The motif should be printed out on paper with a thickness of 80 g/m². Photo paper is not suitable for later transfer as it is too stiff. Other suitable waterproof prints include giftwrap paper and pictures from magazines.
Now brush a generous amount of KREUL Foto Transfer Potch onto the printed-out portrait and the canvas. Then place your portrait with the motif facing downwards on the canvas and use the squeegee to smooth it out. Leave everything to dry overnight. On the next day, remove the paper by wetting it with a damp cloth and rubbing it away. You can use your fingers to do this. Let everything dry again and then paint over a coat of KREUL Foto Transfer Potch varnish. With this step, any remaining fine paper fibres disappear and the colours appear more brilliant. If you like, you can paint over the dried motif with acrylic paint. We have dabbed some shades of blue onto the woman’s hair and accentuated her complexion with Genuine Yellow.
### Photo motifs on wood, glass, metal? No problem
Can you only transfer photo motifs onto canvas? No, not at all! KREUL Foto Transfer Potch is suitable for a host of different surfaces. Perfect for applying photo prints onto wood, ceramic, metal, glass, porcelain, fabric (only handwashing) and candles. What about a wedding photo on a log slice? Or a magical view from your last holiday trip on a candle holder? We think special moments have deserved extraordinary surfaces as a perfect setting.
### Transferring a favourite photo onto a candle
You can even decorate candles with photo motifs, With KREUL Foto Transfer Potch, transferring photos onto candles is just as easy as on other surfaces. We recommend using a special finish: KREUL Foto Transfer Potch Varnish for Candles. This seals the photo motifs on the candle, and gives you a silk-gloss sheen. KREUL Foto Transfer Potch Varnish for Candles also contains beeswax so that the candles burn evenly.
