Optimistic, carefree and full of energy – that’s how a sun-drenched August makes us feel. Almost outshining the glow of the seasonal sunflowers. Their warm shade of yellow just spreads good mood. And that's why we have chosen warm, sunny yellow as our colour of the month. To help preserve the positive impact of this good-mood colour for a long time, we have come up with three creative ideas with the colour yellow. Have fun being creative with a colour that conjures up summer in your home.
### Idea 1: Sunny yellow ethnic-style highlights on drinking glasses
Mexican flair for your tabletop decoration? Easy with KREUL Glass & Porcelain Clear. The ethnic-style pattern on drinking glasses looks complicated. But it's totally easy with this trick. Simply print out a graphic motif, like, for example, the bird from the Internet and fix it to the inside of the glass with sticky tape. Then paint the motif on the outside with our transparent glass and porcelain paint. The Sun Yellow colour in the KREUL Glass & Porcelain Clear series gives the design a summery look. Let the paint dry on the glasses for four hours, place the glasses in a cold (not preheated) domestic oven. Set the oven to 160 °C with top and bottom heat setting and fix the paints for 90 minutes. All done!
### Idea 2: Yellow abstract art with structure
Large-format acrylic artwork instantly adds new colour effects to your living room. With SOLO GOYA Triton Acrylic in Yellow and Orange, you can get radiant happiness. We have added some neutral grey as a contrast. But the trick with our abstract summer artwork is the relief structure. You get this effect with SOLO GOYA Acrylic Medium Structure Paste Universal. Use a pallet knife to spread the paste onto parts of the canvas, let it dry and colour it with yellow. Or mix the acrylic paint with structure paste on your palette and then apply the mixture. This variant additionally lightens the colours of your paint. And if you like, you can scratch other structures into the still wet coat of paint and medium.
### Idea 3: Quick paper design with Honeycomb
There are often punched-out card shapes left over from crafting. These are perfect for making a sheet of paper into something special. We painted a punched-out honeycomb pattern with KREUL Nature in the colour Honeycomb. You can do this with a sponge or brush. Then we turned over the template and stamped a pattern onto a sheet of paper with the wet paint. Paper design can be so quick and simple.
